Abstract
Yarn feeding devices which utilize air flow have come to play an important role in textile industry. Setting airflow pressure higher than necessary leads to the damage of yarn as well as a loss of air power. This paper analyzes the optimum condition of yarn feeding operation, focusing on an air jet as well as air flow in pipe. The air jet is analyzed in terms of air jet velocity and air drag of yarn. We also ran a simulation and observed the behavior of running yarn using a high-speed camera.
