Abstract
A wireless monitoring system for indoor environments was developed. The system was composed of a 1-chip microcomputer board (Arduino) and several sensors (a temperature sensor, a humidity sensor, a gas sensor and a color sensor). After the detected information with these sensors was processed by the microcomputer using the wireless system (XBee) which was mesh-networked, it was imported to the database system. The modified informa tion data (XML) was uploaded to the web system. We can access to the computer network at any time and everywhere and easily get the visualized records of the condition of the monitored environment. This system can be used for safety and disaster prevention.
