Abstract
The larvae of Rhyacophila kuramana Tsuda, 1942 (Insecta; Trichoptera; Rhyacophilidae) inhabit spring seepage areas of rock surfaces in a mountain stream in central Japan. Larvae of this species were collected from the surface of an erosion control dam and adults were collected near this dam in the low mountains (208m a.s.l.) close to an urban area. The vertical surface of the downstream-side of the dam was covered by concrete panels imitating natural rock surfaces, which provides variable hydraulic conditions as suitable habitat for larvae, pupae and egg masses of this spe-cies.
