The GEONET, GNSS Earth Observation Network System, which is the network of continuous operating reference stations operated by GSI, Geospatial Information Authority of Japan, can be used for the performance evaluation of satellite positioning service. The observation data and daily position of stations are available for public, so, the performance of the intended satellite positioning service could be evaluated by applying the service to the observation data and comparing with the associate daily position as the reference. The advantage of this evaluation method is one needs no observation facilities only for evaluation. For example, the evaluation result based on this method is published for the CLAS, Centimeter-Level Augmentation Service, provided by QZSS, Quasi-Zenith Satellite System. A concern for this evaluation method might be the error of daily position used as the reference and the common-mode component between evaluated position and reference position. The author has investigated such effects on the performance evaluation results and found there is no significant difference between the effects of the common-mode component and the error of daily position and the total effect to the position accuracy is generally less than 0.4 millimeter for the CLAS service in Kanto Area of Japan in 2025, while the effect reaches up to 3 and 6 millimeters for horizontal and vertical, respectively, in monthly processing.
