Abstract
Patho-histological observations were made on 13 left bronchi and 17 right bronchi obtained from 16 autopsied . cases of lepromatous leprosy and 5 autopsied cases of neural leprosy.
Samples were taken from bilateral main bronchi, right upper Y and middle segmental bronchi and left upper and lower segmental bronchi.
Results were as follows:
1) Leprous bacilli were positive in 5 cases from left bronchi and 7 cases from the rightside.
2) Bacilli were positive only in 3 cases of segmental bronchi.
Bacilli were negative in all cases of neural leprosy.
4) Bacilli were positive in right main bronchi and was not positive in the left-side.
