Abstract
From 32 hospitalized patients daily sputum specimens were taken 5 times a day and antibiotic sensitivity determination tests were performed with each isolated tubercle bacillus.
According to standard procedures, tests for SM, PAS and INN were made and the tests results were as follows:
(1) The sensitivity grade to SM had little difference with each isolates while PAS or INN had great differences. This indicates that a fairly large deviation of sensitivity was noticed bases upon the time of each day we isolated bacilli even from the same person.
(2) The bacilli isolated from early morning specimens did not always show the highest grade of resistance toward all tested drugs.
(3) This result was also found to be similar on the test of the daily total sputum specimens.
(4) This study emphasized necessity of the sensitivity determinations with sputum taken from a patient at the different times in a day.
