Abstract
200-300mg pantothenic acid has been administrated to 9 patients of acute hepatitis, chronic hepatitis, and alcoholic liver cirrhosis, and its effects has been decided by liver needle biopsy.
The results were as follows;
1) According to clinical symptoms and liver function tests, the patients of acute hepatitis become almost normal within 2 month. However it was found that, they were still abnormal by liver needle biopsy.
2) Chronic hepatitis following epidemic hepatitis has remarkably recovered, however to the chronic hepatitis with bile duct proliferation and fibrosis, the administration of pantothenic acid has not given radical effect.
3) To the alcoholic liver cirrhosis, it has been effective, however to alcoholic fatty liver, that has no effects by other liver-tonic drugs, it has not been effective.
4) That is to say, the administration of pantothenic acid has much effect to improve the inflammation or fatty degeneration of liver, however to liver fibrosis its effect is not still certain.
