Abstract
1) We showed the peculiar symptoms and the process of a case of the Malum Perforans Pedis, who has been hospitalized for about 10 years.
The patient is a woman, 58 years old. The prognosis of the disease is not seemed to be good.
2) According to the reports on 20 cases of the disease in Japan, the case is seemed to have close relation to the dysplasia of the lower side of spinal cord with the spins bifida occulta. We think it is inadequate at present to give the case a definite name because of ambiguousness of the pathological study.
3) Fatal ulcer is supposed to be fundamentally motivated by neuronutritical disturbance of tissue, forming perforanting ulcer which penetrates into a peculiar bone, by bacterial infection and mechanical pressure.
4) Good therapy is seldom reported in the case so far.
The patient is not expected to be recovered even though by operation of several times, because so much the vitality in every organism and power of reaction are declining as the ulcer is getting worse. She is still hospitalized under treatment, but what we can do in treatment is only to care of wounds.
