Distribution of Neutralizing Antibodies in Serum against Several Types of Enterovirus in a Remote Area of Hokkaido

Abstract
Neutralizing antibody titer in serum against to several types of enteroviruses were examined in a remote area of Sannai (Kamuenai Mura, Furuu Gun, Hokkaido).
Serums were taken from 100 pupils of Sannai Primary School.
We compared the result with those obtained in other districts of Hokkaido, and got the following findings.
1. Neutralizing antibody to Polio I was obtained at almost the same rate to other districts (as high as 96%).
2. Among Cox, viruses, the results showed no difinite tendency.
3. Among ECHO, viruses, except to type 1, , the result was the highest of all.
4. The number of antibodies in each individual were equal among Cox, virus, while were more among ECHO. viruses.
