Abstract
A 58-year-old male patient was admitted to Maizuru National Hospital on June, 15, 1967, complaining of lumbago. Physical examinations revealed hypesthesia on the S1, S2 regions and abolished both ankle jerks.
The findings of the cerebrospinal fluid obtained by lumbal puncture and myelography performed by suboccipital puncture, revealed the evidence of a block at the level of T11 and laminectomia was performed on July, 11, 1967. The dura mater was thikened to a width of 8mm and we found pus in the subdural space. Staphylococcus aureus. was found. Clinically and histologically, this case was diagnosed as secondary pachymeningitis hypertrophicans circumscripta.
