Abstract
Pentazocine (Sosegon), a new non-narcotic analgesic was used for premedication on 63 patients, The following results were obtained.
1) The drug was an effective sedative given before anesthesia.
2) No side effects on the respiratory and circulatory system were observed in this clinical study.
3) In some instances slight nausea and dizziness occurred, but no treatment was required.
It was concluded that pentazocine is an effective pre-anesthetic drug.
