Abstract
Authors reported 80 cases of recurrent laryngeal nerve palsy with 47 males and 33 females, admitted to the otorhinolaryngological clinic of our hospital during past 8 years. The peak of age distribution was at the sixth decade and paralysis occured more frequently on the left side than the right. The causes of palsy were; pulmonary disease was 21, surgery of the neck was 10, tumor in the neck was 8, intubation anesthesia was 6, intrathoracic surgery was 4, paralysis by C. N. S. disease was 4 and idiopathic was 27, respectively.
