Abstract
Literatures on the infections due to Mycobacterium fortuitum which appeared in the related journals until 1981 were reviewed. Some cases of pulmonary infections were related to the history of tuberculosis and pneumoconiosis and/or the presence of mega-esophagus. Abscess formation due to this organism were frequently resulted from iatrogenic causes such as injection and surgical treatment. Infections secondary to trauma were also reported.
