A Study on the Chronic Diseases in the Children in Iwaki Byoin National Sanatorium from 1985 to 1987

Abstract

We studied the tendency of the inpatients with chronic pediatric diseases in children from 1985 to 1987 in Iwaki Byoin National Sanatorium. The diseases were classified into three groups: asthma, renal disease and others. The number of patients in each group was almost equal. The majority of inpatients were referred from Hirosaki University Hospital, the public or private hospitals and the private clinics. After discharge, the majority of the patients were followed by the outpatient clinic in our hospital. Our chronic pediatric disease ward will be occupied by patients with obesity, hypertension and schoolphobia in the future.
