A preliminary study was carried out with VAT tablets to suppress fecal flora in patients with hematological disorders who had increased incidence of severe infections. The results obtained were as follows;
1) With each group of three tablets, six tablets and nine tablets a day, fecal flora was strongly suppressed one week after administration of VAT tablets.
2) During administration of nine tablets a day, Klebsiella pneumoniae was detected.
3) Side effects with these drugs were not observed.
