Abstract
The Waste Disposal and Public Cleansing Law (hereinafter referred to as “Waste Disposal Law”), that was revised in October 1991 and came into force on the 4th of July, 1992, has specified the infectious waste discharged from medical institutions (hospital, clinic, clinical laboratory, medical facilities for animals, and research institutions for medicine, dentistry, pharmacy, and veterinary medicine) as the special management waste. The Ministry of Health and Welfare has prepared the “Infectious Waste Disposal Mannual according to the Waste Disposal Law” with respect to the regulations on infectious waste according to the Waste Disposal Law.
