Abstract
1) A histo-pathological observation on biopsy specimens was made on five cases of an early stage of lepra nervorum.
2 The findings are similar to the characteristics of typical tuberculous changes or those of the resorption stage of tuberculous changes.
3) A marked change of the nerve fibers was noted, neerotic areas being found in two cases.
4) Mycubacteria lepcae were demonstrated in the nerve fibers in four of the five cases.
5) Compared with lepra maculosa the necrotic focci of the lepra nerverum have tendency histologically to form sclerosis and cicatrix.
6) Histologically no essential difference was noted in the nerve changes between lepra maculosa and lepra nervorum.
