Abstract
Recently, newlook sciences such as chaos, fractal, synergetics, neural network, artificial life, genetic algorithm etc, are finding applications in all the interdisciplinary fields.
These system paradyms have also greatly influenced the medical research fields. Here, the author describes such recent trends with a view to their clinical applications.
First, the chaos and f ractal paradyms, dealing with the complicated phenomena and structur-es, could be put into practical use to analyse the clinical chronological data (EEG, EEMG, ECG, EMG, ERG, etc.), and clinical imaging figures (radiological images, MRI, ultrasound sonogram etc.).
Secondly, the synergetics, neural network, artificial life, genetic algorithm paradyms could find wide application in obtaining optimum resolutions to clinical problems simulating various therapeutic plans by the use of mathematical models.
They may be the key to breaking through certain bottleneck in current clinical medicine.
