Abstract

Generally speaking, it is difficult to make a model which satisfies completely all the characteristics for absorption chillers/heaters, therefore PID control is often used. In this paper, to improve energy saving with stable and fast response, we apply fuzzy control using well-known characteristics as knowledge for fuzzy inference to absorption chillers/heaters.
Consequently it is verified with experiments on a 100 USRton double stage absorption chillers/heaters that proposed multi-input fuzzy controlled system is better then PID controlled system with gains adjusted by fuzzy interence, when refrigeration load is quickly changed like step change, start-up and temperature of cooling water increases.
