Abstract
[Purpose] The purpose of this study was to examine the relationship between grip strength and foot grip strength in terms of baseball pitching and batting patterns. [Subjects and Methods] The subjects were 50 university baseball players, and grip strength and foot grip strength were measured. [Results] In the comparison between the right-handed / right-handed (RR) and right-handed / left-handed (RL) groups, there was a significant difference in dominant and non-dominant hand grip strength. The grip strength was significantly greater than that in the RR group. There was no significant difference in the foot grip strength. In addition, a relationship between grip strength and foot grip strength was not found in all items. [Conclusion] It was suggested that the RL group players have better grip strength than the RR group players. It was also suggested that grip strength and foot grip strength in baseball players are not related because the roles of the upper and lower limbs are different.
