Abstract

Towards better understanding of the reduction of iron oxide within blast furnace, a series of studies have been conducted. In this study, phase relationships for 4-phase assemblages of the system CaO-SiO₂-MgO-Fe_xO was investigated, in conjunction with the measurements of the activities of Fe_xO via electrochemical technique incorporating magnesia-stabilized zirconia.
