Abstract
The purpose of this study is to clarify the process of how learners need native language teachers should have learner’s mother tongue proficiency by using URAI (2017), which shows the dat a “More than 80% of learners think that native teachers should have learner’s mother tongue proficiency”. Analyzed the results of the interview using the M-GTA method, it showed 15 concepts. Through these concepts, learners don’t need “Learner’s mother tongue proficiency of Native teachers” as an ideal, and it has become clear that through the contact scene such as strategy and scene. However, they feel a necessity of it with “compromise”.
