Abstract
Microwave resonance therapy (MRT) is a method administrating extremely low intensity microwave radiation on an acupuncture point of a patient. We used MRT for two patients with motor weakness in their upper extremities after a whiplash injury and ten patients with hemiparesis after cerebrovascular diseases. After the treatment, the whiplash injury patients showed increments of grasping force, and the patients with hemiparesis obtained improvements of coordination and selectivity of the movement with decrement of spasticity. These clinical findings imply that the meridian is a functional system in terms of biological order, in which electromagnetic interaction takes part.
