Abstract
Humans have natural healing powers, and one of the roles of nursing is to exert them effectively. Hand aromatherapy massage (aroma M) is said to a relaxation technique that exerts natural healing power. To investigate the relaxation effect on the mind and body by aroma M, before the start of home-visit nursing, visiting nurses carried out aroma M and measured changes in their vital signs and psychological relaxation changes using the emotional relaxation scale (ERS). Three results were obtained.
Result 1: Aroma M significantly reduced pulse and respiratory rate, and showed a relaxation reaction. Result 2: A positive change was observed in ERS. Result 3: A significant difference was observed in the ERS subscales (quiet, open, refreshing, competent) (p<0.05).
