The purpose of this paper is to illuminate how “urban poor” can make solidarity. Itfocuses especially on their mental which sees a poverty-situation as a stigma. This is a case study to answer the question whether people can make solidarity by a positive identification overcoming the stigma. The cases are a struggle for a land tenure in Tatalon Estate and a garbage collection in Talayan Barangay both in Quezon City in the Philippines. The solidarity, made in a movement to defeat a common enemy or to ease their discontent, is fragile in processing the movement. In addition, it has no channel to collaborate with others. On the other hand, a loose network without such strong purpose can make a sustainable solidarity. It concludes that the solidarity will take a strength to face up to their poverty-situation positively in their daily lives as cases show.
