Abstract
A TV signal hierarchy is proposed with 30P/525* as CIS(Common Intermediate Scan) between 60I' (Pseudo Interlace)# and 60P (progressive) signals. This paper is intended to give the way to merge and compromize both 60I and 60P, which are left unresolved in the US Advanced TV. Fortunately, since there are many considerations on progressive scan in MPEG, digital transmission (including broadcasting) is improved dramatically. Analog transmission (incl. Broadcasting) is also improved if 30P and/or 60' is identified. * progressive signal with 525 lines and 30 frames/sec. # format obtained by rearranging a 30P signal.
