Proposal of Rapid Retrieval Method using information in Compressed Video

Abstract

Video materials are often stored and derivered in compressed form because of its data size. Under the present situation, however, there are not many cases that enough key information is attached to the compressed data in order for fast retrievals. In this paper we propose a video retrieval method that uses motion vectors and/or DC coefficients in compresses video as key information, and realize fast retrieval of compressed video even without a prior key information.
