Image decomposition by wavelet bases at image contour positions

Abstract

In this paper, we propose a new image decomposition algorithm based on the wavelet transform. The decomposition algorithm is obtained from the wavelet maxima representation and POCS algorithm. The images are decomposed to the wavelet bases which are shifted to the contour positions. The images can be recovered by the inverse wavelet transform from the proposed decomposition without any iterative procedure.
