Influence on optical wireless LAN by the weather and communication distance

Abstract

As for optical wireless LAN, when the communication distance becomes long, the influence by the weather cannot be disregarded. Then, we investigated the influence on optical wireless LAN by measuring the transmission rate in long distance (6.2Km) and medium distance (1.8Km) simultaneously. Moreover, we investigated the influence which the weather exerted on optical wireless LAN. As a result, it was confirmed that the weather hardly influenced if the communication distance was within 2Km and practical use was possible.
