Abstract
Vertical resolution in vertically-moving scanned pictures is analyzed in the [temporal-vertical] frequency domain. The spectrum inclines (or, rotates) from the vertical frequency axis as they move, with the horizontal frequency axis μ as a pivot. The mechanism that the slowly moving horizontal stripes degrade picture quality seriously and there is a limit in the vertical resolution in interlaced pictures is made clear.
