Abstract
We have developed Digital8 camcorder format, which enables digital video and audio recording on Hi8-8mm tapes. and the recorded data structure is approximately same as DV, so the picture and sound have extremely high quality. For the backward compatibility, we have also developed automatic detection system of Analog8/Digital8.
