2-1 A study on hierarchical structure of medical volumetric data using 3-D wavelet transform

Abstract

This paper evaluates performance of hierarchical structures for data transmission of medical volumetric data with 3D wavelet transform (3D-WT). The PSNR of the reconstructed data at intermediate stage of hierarchical transmission of the proposed scheme is investigated compared with a general 3D-WT with dyadic decomposition. The result indicates that the proposed scheme is superior to the general scheme.
