Abstract

We successfully developed the brand new digital camera <IDC-1000Z>using the iD PHOTO disk (capacity: 730MB, diameter: 50mm) as a recording medium. This camera can hold as many as 1200 still pictures (1360×1024) and about 8minutes moving pictures (Motion-JPEG, 640×480, 30fps). The camera can also be used as an external disk drive for a computer so that users will not need to get any special softwares installed on it. In this paper, we will present some of our remarkable techniques which enable to record large photo data on a super high density disk(4.6GB/inch・) at very high data transfer rate(20Mbps).
