1-3 A Method of Controlling a Blending-Type Filter for Blotch Repair

Abstract

We discuss the adaptive control of the blending coefficient of the blending filter for the repair of blotches in the film material of old movie. We give the theoretical foundations of the blending filters' applicability to the blotch repair by using a statistical model of blotch distortions and by minimizing a statistical cost function of repair errors.
