6-3 A Note on Video Streaming System based on TCP/IP

Abstract

Packet losses in a wireless communication environment cause severe throughput variation in a TCP transmission. For a TCP-based video streaming, an adaptive video bitrate control method is proposed, in which a concept of target value of receiving buffer occupancy is introduced. Computer simulation shows that the method can manage the throughput variation and can improve a video quality
