10-1 Improvement of Initial Labeling Method for JSEG Segmentation

Abstract

JSEG is a powerful segmentation algorithm which consists of initial labeling stage and spatial segmentation stage. The authors have proposed two algorithms based on k-means color clustering and Fuzzy c-means color clustering for initial labeling. This paper verifies goodness of those algorithms and proposes a modified algorithm.
