Abstract
We previously proposed new motion-compensated prediction based on adaptive interpolation for video coding. In each block, a motion vector is detected with integer-pel accuracy, while a predicted image is produced using one of adaptive interpolation filters. In this paper, we introduce the overlapped block motion compensation technique into the prediction method to reduce blocking artifacts of the predicted image.
