Abstract
3D video is a technique that describes full shape and motion of a real moving object. 3D video thus easily merges a real and virtual world. Unfortunately, 3D video needs large storage space and wide transmission bandwidth. To solve this problem, we have developed 3D video compression algorithm using extended block matching algorithm. In this paper, we first review the proposed algorithm and then introduce evaluation methods that take into account both 3D domain and 2D domain distortion.
