7-1 Image Segmentation Method by Total Variation Filter and Watershed Method

Abstract

In this paper, we propose a new image segmentation method by combination of total variation filter(TVF) and watershed method. By using TVF, noises are efficiently reduced with keeping sharp edges in the image and the segmentation performance of watershed method is highly enhanced. Simulation results show the efficiency of the proposed method.
