Abstract
We propose a method for generating maze-like images by using minimum spanning trees (MSTs). We generate a stippling from a given monochromatic image by using centroidal Voronoi tessellation (CVT), and then connect all the points in the stippling with MST to obtain a maze-like image. We derive a relationship of darkness between the input images and the maze-like images by approximating CVT with hexagonal lattice, and utilize it for correcting the brightness of the maze-like images. Experimental results show that the brightness correction method improves the contrast of the maze-like images.
