Abstract

This paper proposes a new method for restoring MPEG-compressed images, and experimentally evaluates its restoration performance. The structure of the MPEG encoder/decoder enables us to construct its MPEG-restoration algorithm with the processing techniques employed by our previously proposed JPEG-restoration method.
