Abstract
This report proposes an adaptive basis switching technique of two-dimensional (2-D) non-separable (NS) GenLOT for picture coding. The conventional DCT and DWTs are separable and have disadvantage in representing diagonal edges and textures of a given picture. In order to overcome the problem, the authors proposed 2-D NS GenLOT as a previous work. In this work, the adaptive local basis control of overlap and direction is investigated and the significance is verified.
