9-5 Face Illumination Compensation Using Difference of Gaussian for Robust Eigenface-Based Face Recognition

Abstract

The Difference of Gaussian-based illumination compensation is presented to provide robust eigenface-based face recognition against large face variability due to lighting variations. This work adopts the Difference of Gaussian from SIFT for filtering the illumination component of face image. The results show the proposed method could solve the illumination problem.
