Abstract

In HEVC, truncated unary code is used for some syntax elements which causes significant increase of context coded bins in the worst case. To improve the throughput of the CABAC in the worst case, a new binarization code called max exponential Golomb code is proposed. By applying the proposed binarization, the number of context coded bins is reduced with almost no coding efficiency loss.
