10-1 An area-efficient low-power column-distributed ramp signal generator for column-parallel ADCs of high-definition CMOS image sensors

Abstract

This paper proposes an area-efficient low-power column-distributed ramp signal generator without any power-hungry amplifiers. This consists of miniaturized column-wise ramp generators connected together by metal wire, reducing eventual signal mismatch. Simulation results show less than 1LSB gain error of the ramp signal is attained only in the area of 2.4mm^2.
