24-5 Support for VOD and recorder function on Hybridcast

Abstract

When playing back a VOD or recorded content, Hybridcast application software never started. If an application can start for time-shift or on-demand playback, Hybridcast service will be more enjoyable. This paper describes control methods of application software for playback including trick-play and scheduling a recording. Functionalities of the methods described in this paper are confirmed by prototype implementation. Some of the methods have been standardized by IPTV Forum Japan.
