A Study on Volunteer Computing using Hybridcast

Abstract

In this paper, we propose a method to realize volunteer computing using Hybridcast. We focus on idle computing resources of TV sets which viewers watch broadcast program on. We developed a prototype system and conducted an experiment. The experimental results show the effectiveness of our method, and reveal some problems particular to Hybrid cast browser.
