A Study for Japanese Character Recognition with Perspective Distortion by Vanishing Point Deletion Using Radon Transform

Abstract

A method of perspective distortion correction for photographs taken of Japanese characters on signboard is discussed. Two vanishing points of Japanese characters computed using Radon transform. A homography matrix is calculated using the vanishing points, and its perspective distortion is corrected by the homographic transform.
