Person authentication using periocular images has a great potential for recognizing pedestrians in surveillance applications. This paper proposes a periocular recognition algorithm using phase-based correspondence matching with texture enhancement. Texture enhancement of periocular images can significantly improve recognition performance of periocular recognition. Through experiments using a public database, we demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed algorithm compared with conventional algorithms.
