Pre-processing Equipment for 8K Video Codec with Functions of Noise Reduction and Band Limitation

Abstract

We developed pre-processing equipment for 8K video codec with functions of the noise reduction and band limitation to improve the video coding quality. These functions are implemented by novel proposed method based on the wavelet shrinkage technique. By using the pre processing equipment implemented the proposed method, coding efficiency is improved for a real time 8K encoded video. In the experiments, we confirmed operation of functions of noise reduction and band limitation of the pre-processing equipment. In addition , we checked the improvement of the video coding quality.
